Laurel and I were wombmates, roommates and soulmates. We lived on opposite sides of the country and in different time zones but we still spoke almost every day.
When Laurel got the devastating news that her sore hip was actually stage 4 metastatic cancer and she had only 6 months to live the rest of her life I was in shock. Thankfully Laurel’s husband said I could stay with them as often as I liked. So I did just that. I cooked anything and everything that sounded good to her. We went for drives, talked about our favorite books, talked through and planned her memorial service, wrote letters to loved ones, listened to her favorite music. When she was scared at night I slept right next to her- just like when we were little.
We were together at our birth and at her end. I couldn’t be anywhere else.
Now we need to find a cure for this disease that takes too many loved ones before we are ready to say goodbye. I am honored and happy to help Jennifer with her heart cause, Granny- Ola. It’s a delicious product for a great cause!
